Description
This Baked Crunchy Hot Honey Chicken is crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and coated in a sweet and spicy honey glaze. A perfect balance of heat and sweetness for an irresistible meal.
Ingredients
- For the Chicken:
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs (about 1.5 lbs)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 1/2 cups panko breadcrumbs
- For the Hot Honey Sauce:
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons hot sauce
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar or lemon juice (optional)
- For Garnish:
- Fresh chopped parsley
- Sesame seeds or crushed peanuts
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Pat chicken dry with paper towels.
- In one dish, mix flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika.
- In another dish, beat the eggs.
- Place panko breadcrumbs in a third dish.
- Coat chicken in flour, dip in egg, then coat with breadcrumbs. Press gently to stick.
- Place chicken on baking sheet and lightly spray with oil.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden and internal temp reaches 74°C (165°F).
- In a saucepan, combine honey, hot sauce, butter, and red pepper flakes. Heat until smooth.
- Add vinegar or lemon juice if desired.
- Drizzle or toss chicken with the hot honey sauce.
- Garnish and serve.
Notes
- Adjust hot sauce to control spice level.
- Use chicken thighs for juicier results.
- Air fryer option: cook at 190°C (375°F) for 18–22 minutes.
