Description

This Baked Crunchy Hot Honey Chicken is crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and coated in a sweet and spicy honey glaze. A perfect balance of heat and sweetness for an irresistible meal.


Ingredients

  • For the Chicken:
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs (about 1.5 lbs)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 1/2 cups panko breadcrumbs
  • For the Hot Honey Sauce:
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons hot sauce
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar or lemon juice (optional)
  • For Garnish:
  • Fresh chopped parsley
  • Sesame seeds or crushed peanuts


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Pat chicken dry with paper towels.
  3. In one dish, mix flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika.
  4. In another dish, beat the eggs.
  5. Place panko breadcrumbs in a third dish.
  6. Coat chicken in flour, dip in egg, then coat with breadcrumbs. Press gently to stick.
  7. Place chicken on baking sheet and lightly spray with oil.
  8. Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden and internal temp reaches 74°C (165°F).
  9. In a saucepan, combine honey, hot sauce, butter, and red pepper flakes. Heat until smooth.
  10. Add vinegar or lemon juice if desired.
  11. Drizzle or toss chicken with the hot honey sauce.
  12. Garnish and serve.

  • Adjust hot sauce to control spice level.
  • Use chicken thighs for juicier results.
  • Air fryer option: cook at 190°C (375°F) for 18–22 minutes.
