This Beefy Garlic Butter Bowl is a rich and comforting baked casserole featuring seasoned ground beef, creamy garlic butter rice, and layers of melted cheddar and mozzarella cheese.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 2 cups cooked white rice
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1.5 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Brown ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat, seasoning with salt, pepper, onion powder, and paprika. Cook until fully browned, then drain excess fat.
- In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
- Add cooked rice, beef broth, and heavy cream. Stir and simmer for 3–4 minutes until creamy and slightly thickened.
- Spread garlic butter rice into a greased 9×13 baking dish.
- Layer cooked beef evenly over the rice.
- Top with cheddar cheese and mozzarella cheese.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly. Broil for 2–3 minutes for a golden top if desired.
- Let rest for 5 minutes, garnish with parsley, and serve hot.
Notes
- Day-old rice works best for texture.
- Swap beef with chicken or turkey if preferred.
- Add mushrooms or onions for extra flavor.
- Can be assembled ahead and baked later (add extra 10 minutes if chilled).
