Ingredients
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 3/4 tsp kosher salt
- 1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
- Flaky sea salt (optional, for sprinkling on top)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
- Cream together softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla extract.
- Whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and kosher salt. Gradually mix into wet ingredients.
- Fold in chocolate chips evenly.
- Scoop dough by rounded tablespoons onto prepared baking sheet, about 2 inches apart. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt if desired.
- Bake 10β12 minutes until edges are golden but centers remain soft.
- Cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to wire rack to cool completely. Serve with milk!
Notes
- For extra gooey cookies, slightly underbake by 1β2 minutes. Theyβll firm up as they cool but remain soft inside.
