Description
Crispy egg rolls filled with creamy cheesecake and coated in cinnamon sugar, served with indulgent dessert toppings.
Ingredients
- 227 g cream cheese, softened
- 45 g granulated sugar
- 2.5 ml lemon juice
- 2.5 ml pure vanilla extract
- 1.25 ml fine sea salt
- 8 egg roll wrappers
- Water, for sealing wrappers
- 200 g granulated sugar (for topping)
- 16 g ground cinnamon (for topping)
- Vegetable oil, for deep frying
- Caramel sauce, as desired
- Chocolate sauce, as desired
- Chopped strawberries, as desired
- Powdered sugar, as desired
Instructions
- Mix topping sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl; set aside.
- Beat cream cheese, sugar, lemon juice, vanilla, and salt until smooth and creamy.
- Place 30 ml cheesecake filling in center of each egg roll wrapper and roll tightly, sealing with water.
- Heat vegetable oil to 190°C (375°F) in a deep pot.
- Fry egg rolls in batches for about 2 minutes until golden and crisp.
- Drain on paper towels.
- While warm, roll egg rolls in cinnamon sugar.
- Serve immediately with desired toppings.
Notes
- Ensure oil is fully heated before frying.
- Add chocolate chips to the filling for variation.
- Can be served warm or at room temperature.
