Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground beef (80/20 recommended)
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 2 eggs
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 cup additional cheese for topping


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, cheddar cheese, milk, ketchup, onion, eggs, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning.
  3. Mix until just combined without overworking the meat.
  4. Transfer mixture to the baking dish and shape into a loaf or spread evenly.
  5. Smooth the top for even cooking.
  6. Bake for 45 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 155–160°F.
  7. Remove from oven and sprinkle with remaining cheese.
