Ingredients
- 1 lb chicken sausage, sliced
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 onion, diced
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 1½ cups orzo pasta
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add chicken sausage and cook until lightly browned. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, sauté onion until softened. Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
- Add orzo and toast for 1 minute, stirring frequently.
- Pour in chicken broth and bring to a gentle simmer.
- Stir in broccoli florets, cover, and cook for 10–12 minutes until orzo is tender and liquid is absorbed.
- Return sausage to the skillet and cook 2–3 minutes until heated through.
- Season with salt and pepper. Remove from heat and stir in Parmesan cheese.
