Ingredients

  • Waffle Batter
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Cinnamon Swirl
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/3 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • Cream Cheese Drizzle
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat waffle iron according to manufacturer instructions.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk buttermilk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Pour into dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  4. In a small bowl, mix melted butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon for the cinnamon swirl. Transfer to a piping bag or zip-top bag with a corner cut.
  5. Grease waffle iron lightly. Pour 1/2 cup batter into center, then pipe a spiral of cinnamon mixture. Close and cook 3–4 minutes until golden. Repeat for all waffles.
  6. For cream cheese drizzle: Beat cream cheese until smooth, add powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until pourable.
  7. Serve waffles warm with cream cheese drizzle on top.

Notes

  • Use a piping bag or zip-top bag for neat cinnamon swirls.
