- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tbsp yellow mustard
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- For the special sauce:
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp French dressing
- 1 tbsp sweet pickle relish
- 1 tsp white vinegar
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- For serving:
- 4 sesame seed hamburger buns
- 4 slices American cheese
- 1 cup shredded lettuce

Instructions
- Prepare the special sauce: In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise, French dressing, pickle relish, vinegar, paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until smooth. Refrigerate.
- Cook the beef: Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion and cook 2–3 minutes until soft. Add ground beef, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned.

- Toast the buns: Lightly toast hamburger buns until warm and slightly crisp.
- Assemble: Place cheese on the bottom bun, top with sloppy joe mixture, lettuce, pickles if using, and drizzle with special sauce. Add top bun.
- Serve: Serve hot and enjoy the delicious mess.
Notes
- For extra Big Mac flavor, add chopped pickles directly into the meat.
- Swap American cheese for cheddar if desired.
