Description
Easy Boursin Mac and Cheese – ultra creamy, cheesy, and comforting pasta made with rich Boursin cheese and topped with buttery golden breadcrumbs.
Ingredients
- 8 oz short pasta (macaroni, shells, or similar)
- 1 round Boursin cheese
- 1 cup grated white cheddar cheese, packed
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 cup plain breadcrumbs
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter (for topping)
Instructions
- Cook Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook pasta until al dente. Drain and reserve a little pasta water.
- Make Roux: In a saucepan, melt 2 tbsp butter over medium heat. Whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute until smooth.
- Make Sauce: Gradually whisk in heavy cream. Add Boursin cheese and cheddar. Stir until melted and creamy. Add milk as needed for smooth consistency. Season with salt.
- Combine Pasta: Add cooked pasta to sauce and stir to coat. Add reserved pasta water or milk if needed to loosen.
- Toast Breadcrumbs: In a skillet, melt remaining 2 tbsp butter. Add breadcrumbs and cook until golden and crisp.
- Serve: Transfer pasta to bowls and top with toasted breadcrumbs. Serve hot.
Notes
- Add cooked bacon or chicken for extra protein.
- Fresh parsley makes a great garnish.
