Easy Chicken Noodle Casserole is a simple and comforting dinner loaded with tender chicken, creamy sauce, melted cheese, and hearty egg noodles.
Ingredients
- 12 oz egg noodles, cooked and drained
- 3 cups cooked shredded chicken
- 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of chicken soup
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1 cup frozen peas and carrots, thawed
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 cup crushed butter crackers or breadcrumbs (optional)
- Melted butter, as needed
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Whisk soup, sour cream, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until smooth.
- Stir in chicken, peas and carrots, and 1 cup cheddar cheese.
- Fold in cooked egg noodles until evenly coated.
- Spread mixture into prepared baking dish.
- Top with remaining cheese and optional buttered crackers.
- Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes until bubbly and golden.
- Cool for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Add extra sour cream or cheese for a creamier casserole.
- Substitute turkey or omit meat for a vegetarian option.
