Ingredients
- 1 lb ground meat (pork, turkey, or beef)
- 4 cups shredded green cabbage
- 1 cup grated or julienned carrots
- 3 green onions, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp fresh ginger, minced
- 2 tbsp soy sauce or tamari
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- Red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare ingredients: shred cabbage, grate carrots, chop green onions, mince garlic and ginger.
- Brown meat: Cook ground meat in a large skillet over medium-high heat until browned. Drain excess fat if needed.
- Sauté aromatics: Add garlic and ginger, cook 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
- Add vegetables and sauce: Mix in cabbage, carrots, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Cook 5–7 minutes until vegetables are tender but slightly crunchy.
- Final touches: Season with salt, pepper, and optional red pepper flakes. Stir in green onions and serve immediately.
Notes
- Do not overcook cabbage to retain crunch and nutrients.
- Use a large skillet for even cooking.
- Adjust spiciness with red pepper flakes or sriracha.
- Fresh garlic and ginger are better than powders.
