Description
Juicy marinated chicken grilled until golden, tucked into warm pita bread, and topped with a fresh Mediterranean cucumber-tomato salsa and creamy tzatziki sauce. These Mediterranean-style chicken tacos are bright, fresh, and packed with flavor.
Ingredients

- For the marinade:
- 1 lb chicken breast, cut into 1-inch chunks
- 2.5 tbsp olive oil
- 2.5 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tsp oregano
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes

- For the salsa:
- 1.25 cups cucumbers, diced
- 1 cup tomatoes, seeded and diced
- 1 cup bell pepper, diced
- 1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- 3/4 cup feta cheese, crumbled
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- For assembly:
- 8 pita breads
- 1/2 cup tzatziki sauce
Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, oregano, paprika, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes.
- Add the chicken chunks and toss to coat evenly. Marinate for at least 15 minutes, or up to 45 minutes for deeper flavor.
- Prepare the salsa by combining cucumbers, tomatoes, bell pepper, red onion, parsley, and feta cheese in a bowl.
- Add lemon juice, salt, and pepper to the salsa and toss gently. Let sit for a few minutes so the flavors blend.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated chicken in a single layer.
- Cook for 3–5 minutes without moving, then flip and cook another 3–4 minutes until golden and cooked through (internal temperature 165°F).
- Warm the pitas in a skillet, over a gas flame, or wrapped in foil in a 350°F oven for about 5 minutes.
- Fill each pita with grilled chicken, spoon over the Mediterranean salsa, and drizzle with tzatziki sauce.
- Serve immediately and enjoy.
Notes
- You can grill the chicken on skewers for extra smoky flavor.
- Add olives or extra herbs to the salsa for a more Mediterranean twist.
- Serve with a side salad or roasted potatoes for a complete meal.
