Description
These Ground Beef Philly Cheesesteaks combine savory beef, sautéed peppers, onions, and melted provolone to create the ultimate easy, flavor-packed sandwich. A quick 35-minute meal that’s perfect for lunch or dinner!
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
- 1 medium green bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 1 cup mushrooms, sliced (optional)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- 4 slices provolone cheese (or preferred cheese)
- 4 hoagie rolls
- Olive oil, for cooking
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet with a drizzle of olive oil over medium-high heat.
- Add sliced onions and bell peppers. Sauté 3–5 minutes until tender. Add mushrooms if using and cook 3 more minutes.
- Push vegetables to the side and add ground beef. Cook 5–7 minutes until no longer pink.
- Stir in garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Cook 2 minutes.
- Reduce heat to low and place a slice of cheese on top of the beef mixture. Cover with a lid and let cheese melt for 2–3 minutes.
- Slice hoagie rolls lengthwise without cutting all the way through.
- Spoon the cheesy beef mixture into each roll.
- Toast rolls beforehand if desired. Serve hot.
Notes
- Toast the hoagie rolls for extra crunch and flavor.
- Use any cheese you prefer — provolone, mozzarella, or American all work great.
- Add red peppers or jalapeños for added heat.
