Description

These Ground Beef Philly Cheesesteaks combine savory beef, sautéed peppers, onions, and melted provolone to create the ultimate easy, flavor-packed sandwich. A quick 35-minute meal that’s perfect for lunch or dinner!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 medium green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 4 slices provolone cheese (or preferred cheese)
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • Olive oil, for cooking

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet with a drizzle of olive oil over medium-high heat.
  2. Add sliced onions and bell peppers. Sauté 3–5 minutes until tender. Add mushrooms if using and cook 3 more minutes.
  3. Push vegetables to the side and add ground beef. Cook 5–7 minutes until no longer pink.
  4. Stir in garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Cook 2 minutes.
  5. Reduce heat to low and place a slice of cheese on top of the beef mixture. Cover with a lid and let cheese melt for 2–3 minutes.
  6. Slice hoagie rolls lengthwise without cutting all the way through.
  7. Spoon the cheesy beef mixture into each roll.
  8. Toast rolls beforehand if desired. Serve hot.

Notes

  • Toast the hoagie rolls for extra crunch and flavor.
  • Use any cheese you prefer — provolone, mozzarella, or American all work great.
  • Add red peppers or jalapeños for added heat.
