Description

These High Protein Pizza Hot Pockets are a healthier twist on the classic favorite. Made with a protein-rich yogurt dough and filled with savory pizza sauce and melty cheese, they’re perfect for lunch, meal prep, or a satisfying snack without the guilt.


Ingredients

For the Dough

  • 1 cup low-fat Greek yogurt (or blended cottage cheese)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt

For the Filling

  • 15 g pizza sauce
  • 20 g low-fat cheese (mozzarella works best)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour, baking powder, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and salt.
  3. Add the Greek yogurt and mix until a shaggy dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 2–3 minutes until smooth.
  5. Divide dough into 8 equal portions and roll each into a 6-inch oval.
  6. Add pizza sauce and cheese to one half of each oval, leaving a border.
  7. Fold the dough over and seal edges with a fork.
  8. Bake for 18–20 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Allow to cool for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Use cottage cheese instead of Greek yogurt for extra protein.
  • Add turkey pepperoni or veggies for extra flavor.
  • Almond and coconut flour can be used for a lower-carb option.
