These High Protein Pizza Hot Pockets are a healthier twist on the classic favorite. Made with a protein-rich yogurt dough and filled with savory pizza sauce and melty cheese, they’re perfect for lunch, meal prep, or a satisfying snack without the guilt.
Ingredients
For the Dough
- 1 cup low-fat Greek yogurt (or blended cottage cheese)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp salt
For the Filling
- 15 g pizza sauce
- 20 g low-fat cheese (mozzarella works best)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, mix flour, baking powder, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and salt.
- Add the Greek yogurt and mix until a shaggy dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 2–3 minutes until smooth.
- Divide dough into 8 equal portions and roll each into a 6-inch oval.
- Add pizza sauce and cheese to one half of each oval, leaving a border.
- Fold the dough over and seal edges with a fork.
- Bake for 18–20 minutes until golden brown.
- Allow to cool for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Use cottage cheese instead of Greek yogurt for extra protein.
- Add turkey pepperoni or veggies for extra flavor.
- Almond and coconut flour can be used for a lower-carb option.
- These hot pockets store well in the fridge and can be reheated in the oven or air fryer.
