Description

This Honey Garlic Chicken is tender, juicy, and coated in a rich sweet-savory garlic glaze. A quick and flavorful dish perfect for weeknight dinners served over rice or noodles.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (low sodium recommended)
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes (optional)
  • Sesame seeds and chopped green onions, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Toss chicken pieces with cornstarch until evenly coated.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  3. Cook chicken until golden and fully cooked, about 5–6 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, sauté garlic until fragrant (about 1 minute).
  5. In a bowl, whisk honey, soy sauce, vinegar, sesame oil, and chili flakes.
  6. Pour sauce into skillet and bring to a simmer.
  7. Return chicken to skillet and toss to coat.
  8. Cook 2–3 minutes until sauce thickens.
  9. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.
  10. Serve warm over rice or noodles.

Notes

  • Use chicken thighs for juicier results.
  • Add more chili flakes for extra heat.
  • Best served immediately while sauce is glossy and thick.
