Description
This Honey Garlic Chicken is tender, juicy, and coated in a rich sweet-savory garlic glaze. A quick and flavorful dish perfect for weeknight dinners served over rice or noodles.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/3 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce (low sodium recommended)
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes (optional)
- Sesame seeds and chopped green onions, for garnish
Instructions
- Toss chicken pieces with cornstarch until evenly coated.
- Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Cook chicken until golden and fully cooked, about 5–6 minutes. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, sauté garlic until fragrant (about 1 minute).
- In a bowl, whisk honey, soy sauce, vinegar, sesame oil, and chili flakes.
- Pour sauce into skillet and bring to a simmer.
- Return chicken to skillet and toss to coat.
- Cook 2–3 minutes until sauce thickens.
- Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.
- Serve warm over rice or noodles.
Notes
- Use chicken thighs for juicier results.
- Add more chili flakes for extra heat.
- Best served immediately while sauce is glossy and thick.
