Description
Spicy, cheesy, and fun! Jalapeno Popper Mummies are a perfect appetizer or snack for parties and Halloween. Cream cheese, Monterey Jack, and crescent dough come together for a crowd-pleasing bite.
Ingredients
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 8 oz Monterey Jack cheese, shredded
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp onion powder
- ¼ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- 10 jalapenos, sliced in half lengthwise, seeds removed
- 12 oz Pillsbury crescent rolls
- 1 egg, lightly beaten with 1 Tbsp water (for egg wash)
- 40 small candy eyeballs or sliced olives
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F. Line a baking tray with foil and lightly spray with olive oil.
- Slice jalapenos lengthwise and remove seeds and pith.
- Mix cream cheese, Monterey Jack, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper in a large bowl.
- Spoon cheese mixture into jalapeno halves.
- Unroll crescent rolls, form 4 rectangles, then slice each into 10 strips.
- Wrap each stuffed jalapeno with 2 strips of dough, leaving space for eyes.
- Arrange on tray and brush with egg wash.
- Bake 12 minutes or until golden.
- Press candy eyeballs or sliced olives onto the mummies immediately after baking.
- Cool slightly and serve warm.
Notes
- Instead of candy eyeballs, sliced black olives can be used.
