Description

A rich and cheesy low-carb casserole inspired by the classic Philly cheesesteak. Made with seasoned ground beef, sautéed peppers and onions, creamy cheese, and a bubbly mozzarella-provolone topping.


Ingredients

  • 2 lbs ground beef (80/20 preferred)
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 2 large bell peppers (green, red, or mixed), diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 8 oz provolone cheese, sliced
  • 1.5 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 tbsp olive oil


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and spray a 9×13 baking dish with non-stick spray.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onions and bell peppers and cook 5–6 minutes until softened.
  3. Add minced garlic and cook 30 seconds, stirring constantly.
  4. Add ground beef, breaking it apart while cooking. Season with salt and pepper and cook 7–8 minutes until browned. Drain excess fat if needed.
  5. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, then reduce heat and add softened cream cheese. Stir until melted and creamy.
  6. Transfer mixture to prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
  7. Top with torn provolone slices, then sprinkle shredded mozzarella over the top.
  8. Bake 22–25 minutes until cheese is melted, bubbly, and lightly golden.
  9. Let rest 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version.
  • Add mushrooms for extra classic cheesesteak flavor.
  • Great served with a side salad or low-carb bread.
