Description

Ingredients

  • 12 cupcakes with black cupcake liners
  • Chocolate frosting
  • 2 large pretzel rods
  • Silver sugar crystals
  • White fondant
  • Black fondant
  • Black melting candy

Instructions

  1. Roll out white fondant to 1/4″ thick and cut 12 circles, 2 ½ inch each.
  2. Roll black fondant to 1/4″ thick and cut numbers using cookie cutters: 5 ones, 2 twos, 2 sixes, and 1 each of 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 0.
  3. Place black numbers on white fondant circles gently.
  4. Pour silver sugar crystals into a shallow dish.
  5. Coat cupcakes lightly with chocolate frosting. Roll edges in silver crystals, leaving the middle blank.
  6. Press a white fondant circle onto each cupcake, around edges to meet sprinkles.
  7. Arrange cupcakes in numeric order around a serving platter to form a clock.
  8. Heat black melting chocolate in microwave, stirring every 15–20 seconds.
  9. Trim one pretzel rod for the shorter hour hand. Dip ends into melted candy and let dry.
  10. Position pretzel rods as clock hands on platter. Add melted candy at joint, sprinkle silver crystals, and let set.
  11. Create a spiral in remaining sprinkles in the middle of platter.
  12. Place clock hands on platter when ready. Serve.
