Oven-Baked Cabbage Burgers are a healthy twist on classic comfort food. Juicy seasoned patties bake directly on thick cabbage slices for a low-carb, nutrient-packed meal that’s flavorful, satisfying, and easy to prepare.
Ingredients
Cabbage Base
- 1 small head cabbage, cut into thick slices
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Meat Mixture
- 1 lb ground beef, turkey, chicken, or plant-based alternative
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 large egg (optional, for binding)
Optional Topping
- 1 cup shredded cheese
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Slice cabbage into ½-inch thick slices and brush both sides with olive oil.
- In a large bowl, combine ground meat, onion, garlic, paprika, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix well and add egg if using.
- Form mixture into patties and place each on a cabbage slice.
- Bake for about 25 minutes or until fully cooked.
- If desired, sprinkle cheese on top and broil 3–5 minutes until melted.
- Serve garnished with fresh parsley if desired.
Notes
- Works with beef, poultry, or plant-based meat substitutes.
- For crispier cabbage, roast slices alone for 5 minutes before adding patties.
- Great low-carb burger alternative without buns.
