Description

A delicious high-protein creamy Philly Cheesesteak Mac & Cheese, perfect for busy nights, packed with flavor and nutrition.


Ingredients

  • For the Pasta
  • 8 oz dry macaroni (whole wheat or chickpea pasta works)
  • For the Filling
  • 1 lb lean ground beef (or ground turkey/chickpeas)
  • 1 cup chopped white onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups bell peppers (red, green, yellow), chopped
  • For the Sauce
  • 2 tbsp butter (or olive oil)
  • 8 oz light cream cheese (or regular)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella
  • 4 slices light cheese (any melting cheese)
  • Seasoning & Garnish
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp chili flakes (adjust to taste)
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley (optional)


Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to boil. Cook macaroni until al dente, reserving 125ml pasta water. Drain.
  2. In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Sauté garlic, onion, and bell peppers 4–5 min until tender.
  3. Add ground beef and cook 5–7 min until browned. Drain excess fat. Season with salt, pepper, paprika, and chili flakes.
  4. Reduce heat to low. Stir in cream cheese, shredded mozzarella, and cheese slices until melted and creamy.
  5. Add cooked macaroni and reserved pasta water. Mix until fully coated in sauce. Adjust consistency if needed.

  • Keep heat low when adding cheese to prevent grainy texture.
