Description

Quick Jumbo Dinner Rolls are soft, fluffy, and made with simple ingredients. Perfect for any meal!


Ingredients

  • 1 cup warm whole milk (105–110°F)
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
  • 1 large egg, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 1/2 to 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter for brushing


Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add melted butter, egg, and salt. Whisk until fully combined.
  3. Add 3 1/2 cups of flour and mix. Add more flour if needed.
  4. Knead for 6–8 minutes in a mixer or 10 minutes by hand until smooth and slightly tacky.
  5. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 30–45 minutes until doubled.
  6. Punch down dough and divide into 9–12 portions. Shape into balls.
  7. Place in a greased 9×13-inch pan and let rise for 20–30 minutes.
  8. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 18–22 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Brush with melted butter and cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • Ensure milk is warm but not hot to activate yeast.
  • You can add herbs or cheese for extra flavor.
