Description

Santa’s favorite cookies — soft and chewy double chocolate pudding cookies studded with chocolate chips and festive red & green M&Ms. The instant pudding mix keeps them extra tender and perfect for the holidays.


Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 small box (3.4 oz) instant vanilla pudding mix (dry)
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1 cup red and green M&M candies


Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, cream together butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar for 1–2 minutes until fluffy. Add vanilla and egg; mix well.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, dry instant vanilla pudding mix, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture until incorporated. Stir in most of the chocolate chips and M&Ms, reserving some for topping.
  4. Cover dough and chill for at least 1 hour.
  5. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease or line a baking sheet.
  6. Roll about 3 tablespoons of dough into balls (golf-ball size) and place on prepared sheet. Press reserved chips and M&Ms on top so they show after baking.
  7. Bake 9–12 minutes, until cookies are set but still slightly underdone in the center.
  8. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for at least 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to finish cooling.

Notes

  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature up to 5 days.
  • Dough can be chilled longer or frozen for future baking.
