Ingredients
- Steak:
- 1 lb beef strips (sirloin or ribeye)
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce (optional)
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Sauce:
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp oyster sauce (optional)
- 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 2 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- Onions:
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Prepare the steak: In a bowl, whisk soy sauce, oyster sauce, ginger, garlic, and sesame oil. Toss beef in marinade and let sit 10–15 minutes.
- Cook onions: Heat 1 tbsp oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté onions until soft and slightly caramelized. Season and set aside.
- Sear beef: In the same pan, heat 2 tbsp oil over high heat. Add beef and stir-fry 2–3 minutes until browned.
- Make sauce: Whisk soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, and cornstarch in a bowl.
- Pour sauce over beef and simmer until thickened.
- Return onions to the pan, toss everything together, and serve hot.
