Ingredients
- 1 lb (450g) spaghetti noodles
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt & freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- Red pepper flakes (optional)
- Sautéed vegetables (mushrooms, spinach, cherry tomatoes) (optional)
- Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving
- 1 loaf French or Italian bread, halved lengthwise
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3 cloves garlic, minced (for bread)
- 1–2 tsp fresh herbs (parsley, oregano, basil)
- ½ cup shredded cheese (mozzarella, provolone, or Asiago)
- Salt, to taste
Instructions
- Boil spaghetti in salted water according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and toss with olive oil and minced garlic. Season with salt, pepper, and optional red pepper flakes. Add vegetables if desired.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Mix softened butter, minced garlic, herbs, and a pinch of salt. Spread evenly over the cut sides of the bread. Sprinkle with shredded cheese.
- Place bread on a baking sheet and bake 10–12 minutes until golden and crispy. Optional: broil 1–2 minutes for extra browning.
- Plate spaghetti and top with Parmesan cheese. Slice the garlic bread and serve on the side.
