Ingredients
- 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce (for chicken marinade)
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch (for chicken marinade)
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil (for chicken marinade)
- ½ teaspoon ground ginger (for chicken marinade)
- 8 ounces noodles (spaghetti, linguine, or your favorite type)
- 4 tablespoons soy sauce (for sauce)
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil (for sauce)
- ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
- Sesame seeds (for garnish)
- Chopped green onions (for garnish)
Instructions
- Prepare the Chicken: In a bowl, combine the chicken pieces with soy sauce, cornstarch, sesame oil, and ground ginger. Mix well and set aside for at least 15 minutes.
- Cook the Noodles: Cook the noodles according to package directions until al dente. Reserve about ½ cup of the pasta water before draining. Drain and set aside.
- Make the Sticky Garlic Sauce: In a medium bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, rice vinegar, minced garlic, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes if using.
- Cook the Chicken: Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated chicken and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5–7 minutes.
- Combine Everything: Pour the sauce over the chicken and bring to a simmer. Add the cornstarch slurry and cook, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens, about 1–2 minutes. Add reserved pasta water if needed.
- Add the Noodles: Toss the cooked noodles with the chicken and sauce until well coated.
- Garnish and Serve: Top with sesame seeds and chopped green onions. Serve immediately.
