Description

A rich and flavorful one-pan pasta dish with savory sausage tossed in a sticky honey garlic sauce. Quick, comforting, and perfect for busy weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

  • 12 oz (340 g) pasta (penne, rigatoni, or any short pasta)
  • 1 lb (450 g) sausage, sliced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (low sodium recommended)
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta according to package instructions in salted water until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water, then drain and set aside.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add sliced sausage and cook 5–7 minutes until browned and slightly crispy. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté minced garlic for 30–60 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add honey, soy sauce, and apple cider vinegar. Stir well to combine.
  5. Pour in chicken broth and bring the sauce to a gentle simmer. Cook 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened. Add red pepper flakes if desired.
  6. Return sausage to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce. Simmer for 3–4 minutes.
  7. Add cooked pasta and toss everything together. If needed, add a splash of reserved pasta water to loosen the sauce.
  8. Stir in butter for extra richness.
  9. Season with salt and pepper, garnish with chopped parsley and Parmesan cheese, and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use smoked sausage or Italian sausage depending on your flavor preference.
  • Add vegetables like spinach, broccoli, or bell peppers for extra nutrition.
