Ingredients
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1.5 cups pecans, toasted
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
- In a medium saucepan, combine granulated sugar, brown sugar, heavy cream, butter, and salt.
- Stir constantly over medium heat until the sugars dissolve and the mixture comes to a boil.
- Let boil for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened.
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and pecans.
- Continue stirring for about 2 minutes until the mixture loses shine and thickens.
- Drop spoonfuls onto the prepared baking sheet, forming round pralines.
- Let cool and harden at room temperature for 30 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Use toasted pecans for deeper flavor and added crunch.
- Stir continuously while cooling to prevent sugar crystallization and ensure smooth texture.
