A quick and easy orange chicken recipe featuring crispy chicken bites tossed in a sweet, tangy, and savory homemade orange sauce.
Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs chicken breast, cubed
- 1/2 cup cornstarch (divided)
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
- 1 cup orange juice
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp orange zest (optional)
- 1 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water (slurry)
- Green onions & sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
- Toss chicken with cornstarch, salt, and pepper.
- Sear chicken in batches until golden and cooked through.
- Sauté garlic and ginger in the same pan.
- Add orange juice, sugar, soy sauce, vinegar, and zest; simmer.
- Stir in cornstarch slurry and cook until thickened.
- Return chicken and toss to coat in sauce.
- Simmer briefly and serve with rice.
