Description

Ingredients

  • 5 tablespoons butter
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cups flour
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • Strawberries (sprinkled in sugar if you prefer)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×9 baking dish (12″x17″ half sheet pan works for thinner slices).
  2. In a stand mixer, cream butter and sugar, then beat in eggs and vanilla.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine dry ingredients.
  4. Slowly mix dry ingredients into wet mixture, then add milk. Mix just until combined.
  5. Pour batter into greased pan and bake for about 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

Notes

You can sprinkle strawberries with sugar before adding to cake for extra sweetness.
