Description
Sweet Air Fryer Churro Bites are golden, crispy on the outside, and soft inside. Coated in cinnamon sugar, these bite-sized treats are perfect for a quick snack or dessert and can be served with chocolate or caramel dips.
Ingredients
- Dough:
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla essence
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup + 1 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 cup water
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- Coating:
- 1 tbsp cinnamon powder
- 1 cup white sugar
Instructions
- In a pan, combine water, butter, salt, and sugar. Bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat and gradually add flour, stirring continuously until dough forms. Remove from heat.
- Transfer dough to a large bowl and let cool 4-5 minutes. Add egg and vanilla, mixing with an electric hand mixer until smooth.
- Transfer dough to a piping bag. Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and spray basket with nonstick spray.
- Pipe bite-sized churros into the basket, avoiding overcrowding. Optionally, drop by spoonfuls.
- Brush churros lightly with butter and air fry for 10-12 minutes until golden brown. Cook in batches if needed.
- Mix sugar and cinnamon in a shallow bowl. Toss cooked churros in the mixture, brushing with melted butter if needed to help coating stick.
- Serve warm with chocolate syrup, honey, or Nutella.
Notes
- Use freshly ground cinnamon for a more aromatic flavor.
- Ensure churros are slightly cooled before coating to prevent sugar from melting too much.
- Work in batches for even cooking in smaller air fryers.
- Optional: Add a drizzle of chocolate or caramel for extra indulgence.
